Composure can suggest a person who is never disturbed by anything. The book takes nervousness, fear, and discouragement as part of being human, and turns its attention toward the ability to return from them.

Both Chapter 2 and the concluding chapter describe returning to one's center rather than fixing the mind in an unchanging state. Breathing, the feet, familiar movements, and what one truly values are named as possible points of return. Eliminating feelings is not the goal.

From this perspective, nervousness need not become another reason for self-reproach. One can notice the present state and remember fundamentals already checked in practice. Actual use of the body belongs within instruction; this article does not teach a specific breathing procedure. In everyday life, the same passage can prompt us to reconsider what mattered before making a hurried decision. Rather than defining strength as never becoming unsettled, we can look at what we do afterward. The book's understanding of composure is active in this sense: it allows for movement and return.
